Yes, this is Filmology and we don’t usually talk about television shows here, however, Netflix uploaded the trailer to one of their new series a few days ago, and boy am I excited! It’s a Wachowskis series called Sense8 and, according to the co-producer J. Michael Straczynski on Deadline, “the series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. […] They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so
while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.” And by the looks of the trailer, it is going to be all twists and turns and word-wide chases and mysteries. With a brilliant cast going from Tuppence Middleton and Freeman Agyeman to Max Riemelt and Doona Bae (who also starred in The Wachowskis’s Cloud Atlas), and a seemingly-really interesting premise, this is already sounding very good indeed.
We’ll have to wait until 5 June to watch all 12 episodes on Netflix, but I have high hopes for this!
